Directions from M6

Coming from the M6 towards Penrith take Junction 40 (A66), turn west for Keswick then take A592 to Ullswater. Reach lakeside road after 5 miles, turn right at the junction. After 1 mile you will pass The Brackenrigg Inn on your right, continue down the road for half a mile, turn right at the junction (with postbox) signpost says Ullswater Holiday Park on brown camping sign. Our site is half a mile up the road on the right.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Are groups allowed?

    • We are a family park only. Sorry, but NO groups are accepted. We cater for families (immediate members) and couples only.
    • We do not accept groups of more than two households on-site at any one time to ensure our guests receive the best experience possible.
    • If you book separately and are meeting multiple households/families on-site you will be turned away upon arrival. NO REFUNDS will be given.
    • Anyone seen grouping on site will be asked to leave the site and NO REFUNDS will be given.

    What is your noise policy?

    • You should respect the privacy of other Caravan owners and keep noise to a minimum between the hours of 8pm and 11pm with absolute quiet between 11pm and 8am.
    • Anyone causing a disturbance will be asked to leave, No refunds given

    What time is check in?

    • Tents & Touring pitches are available from 12 noon
    • Camping Cabins are available from 3pm
    • Glamping Pods are available from 3pm
    • Self-catering cottages and Static Caravans are available from 3pm
    • The Bay tree is available from 3pm
    • The Hidden Place is available from 4pm
    • Last Check in – 9pm

    What time is check out?

    Can I bring my dogs?

    • Yes, we allow dogs on-site, please bear in mind though that not all our accommodation accepts pets.
    • You may bring a max of 2 dogs
    • With livestock in our neighbouring fields, Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times

    What pet friendly accommodation do you have?

    • Cabins 2, 6 & 7 accept pets
    • Static caravan 2 accepts pets
    • Self-catering cottages 4, 6, 7 & 8 accept pets

    Can I have a fire?

    • Sorry but we do not allow fires anywhere on-site.

    Are BBQ’s allowed?

    • Disposable barbecues are accepted but only if they are raised off the grass and must only be fuelled with coal, NO wood please (wood creates sparks which can lead to fires and cause damage to other customers’ tents).

    Is an awning included in an electric pitch price?

    • Yes, it is

    How big are your electric tent pitches?

    Artificial Grass Electric Tent pitches

    • Electric tent (ET) pitches ET01 – ET04 measure 6metres x 4metres
    • Pitches ET05 – ET07 measure 8metres x 4metres
    • All have a gravel parking space beside them for 1 car.
    • You will need rock pegs for these pitches.

    Electric Grass Tent pitches

    • 39, 39A, 39B & 40 measure approx. 10metres x 10 metres
    • ET08, ET09 & ET10 measure 8metres x 6metres these also have a gravel parking space beside them for 1 car

    Where are the non-electric tent pitches on-site?

    • Our non-electric tent pitches are not allocated, so you can choose where you pitch upon arrival.
    • Please be respectful of other campers on-site and pitch your tent with a fair distance between you and them, minimum 3metres from any car or tent.

    When is the campsite open?

    • Our season runs from the 1st March – 14th November

    Are your self-catering cottages open all year?

    • Yes, they are

    When is your marina open and who can use it?

    • Our marina is open from the 1st April – 30th September and customers staying with us can use it for free. You will receive your ticket and key code from reception upon check in.

    Do you have Wi-Fi?

    • Yes, we do and it is free
    • The Wi-Fi is limited and may not reach certain parts of the park. The strongest signal is in and around the Reception/Bar building.

    Do you have toilet and shower blocks on-site?

    • Yes, we have 3 heated shower and toilet blocks. Between them we offer a family and wheelchair accessible shower room as well.

    Do you have a pot washing area?

    • Yes, we have pot washing areas attached to each of our shower & toilet blocks.

    Do you have a laundry room on-site?

    • Yes, we do. We have 2 large capacity washing machines, a tumble dryer, ironing board and iron. Tokens can be bought from reception for both the washing machine and iron. The tumble dryer accepts £1 coins.

    Is there somewhere I can freeze my ice blocks?

    • Yes, we have a freezer in the laundry room which customers can use during their stay with us.

    How far are you from Pooley Bridge?

    • We are 3 miles away from Pooley Bridge.

    How far are you from Glenridding?

    • We are 6 miles away from Glenridding.

    Can I walk to Aira Force from your park?

    • Yes, you can, it is Approx. a 9 mile (round trip) and will take approximately 4hrs to complete.
